Synovium Gastrosafe is a complete supplement and supports the stomach, the maintenance of a normal pH level, and intestinal function. This supplement, in pellet form, is the ideal supplement for horses with a sensitive stomach and hindgut that are susceptible to stress or sudden changes. The supplement contains the prebiotic Fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS) combined with Calcium carbonate, Magnesium hydroxide, Lignocellulose, Glutamine peptides, Soybean, Seaweed meal, Kaolin and Threonine. Furthermore, research has shown that supplementation of Synovium Gastrosafe after six weeks has a positive effect on the digestive system (1).

Fructo-oligosaccharide (FOS) is a fructan that has a prebiotic function in the body (2). This prebiotic stimulates a specific lactic acid bacteria in the intestines, promoting hindgut health (3). Research shows that the addition of FOS can support the microorganisms in the intestines, especially when the horse's diet is modified or when it contains a high amount of sugars (4).  

Calcium carbonate and Magnesium hydroxide both act as a buffer in the stomach, neutralising the pH and decreasing the acidity in the stomach (5,6). This offers protection to the stomach wall, supporting horses with gastric ulcers (7).  

Glutamine is an amino acid that is an important component for amino acid, fat and carbohydrate metabolism in the body. It supports the immune system and the development and repair of the intestinal lining (8).  

Kaolin is an absorbent clay mineral that absorbs excess water in the intestinal tract (9). This mainly provides support to horses with watery faeces (9).  

Threonine is a limiting amino acid and is often added to diets to support protein synthesis in the body (10). In addition, supplementing Threonine supports intestinal health. Threonine is a key component of mucin, which acts as a protective barrier against viruses and bacteria in the gut (11).  

Seaweed is an easily absorbable ingredient and contains vitamins, minerals, and proteins. It provides a significant amount of energy to the body (12).

Horse, pony and foal: add 100-150 grams per day to the feed.
