Synovium® Myocare-E contains the ingredients Vitamin E, Selenium, Lysine, Aganine, Beta Alanine and HMB (β-Hydroxy β-methylbutyric acid), to support the horse's muscles and promote endurance. The addition of Vitamin E, among others, prevents muscle damage and supports the recovery process after intensive exercise. Synovium Myocare-E is therefore very suitable for maintaining a healthy and strong muscle mass of the (sports)horse.

Vitamin E has multifunctional properties in the body, but its main function is to neutralise free radicals in the body as a result of oxidative stress (1). Oxidative stress in the body can be caused by intense exercise such as training. Horses mainly derive Vitamin E from fresh grass (2), but studies show that supplementation of extra Vitamin E, mainly to horses that are intensively trained, reduces the risk of tissue damage due to oxidative stress (1,3). As a result, it supports and protects the athlete's body tissues and cells. In addition, Vitamin E, in combination with Selenium, also supports the immune system (4), and provides support to stallions during the breeding season (5,6).  

The addition of Beta-Alanine, a precursor of Carnosine, increases the concentration of Carnosine in muscles (7). Research indicates that an increased concentration of Carnosine in the muscles through the addition of Beta-Alanine improves performance during intense activity (8). 

β-Hydroxy β-methylbutyric acid (HMB) reduces the risk of muscle damage, due to intensive work, and supports the horse's muscles and endurance (9).
