The horse’s intestines play an important role in digesting fibre and converting it into volatile fatty acids, which provide the horse with energy. During periods when horses spend more time outdoors on sand paddocks, they may consciously or unconsciously ingest sand. If this sand does not pass through the intestines, it can accumulate and lead to serious problems.  

Synovium Sand-Oil 369 contains: ​

Psyllium Husk: A plant-based fibre that forms a gel-like substance when it enters the digestive tract. This gel stimulates the peristaltic movement of the intestines, encouraging more regular bowel movements. It also helps bind and carry sand out of the digestive system, preventing dangerous build-up.

Omega Oils: Help optimise the swelling and effectiveness of Psyllium in the digestive tract, enabling more sand to be cleared than with Psyllium alone.

Kaolin: Absorbs excess water in the intestines, offering additional support to horses with abnormal droppings.

Beta-Glucan: Supports the immune system and helps regulate the release of sugars from the diet, preventing spikes in blood sugar levels.

The 1.5 kg jar contains 2 treatments and the 4.5 kg contains as many as 7 treatments!

Horse and pony: For prevention, feed 75 grams twice a day every month for 7 days. In case of sand in the intestines, add 150 grams daily to the feed for 21 days. Divide this daily dose over at least two feedings.

Foal: For prevention, feed 25 g twice a day for 7 days. In case of sand in the intestines, add 50 g daily to the feed for 21 days. Divide this daily dose over at least two feedings.  

Or feed as prescribed by your vet.

Horse and pony:

4,5 kg = 30 days

Foal:

1,5 kg = 30 days
4,5 kg =  90 days

*If your vet prescribes a different dosage from the above feed recommendation, the duration of the pot may change.
